Description
G. purpurea is a forb in the Asteraceae family native to North America. It that can be either annual or biennial [1].
Distribution
G. purpurea ranges from northeast California through the southeastern and eastern United States and southeastern Canada [1].
Ecology
Habitat
G. purpurea can be found along roadsides, fields, pastures, and disturbed areas [2].
Phenology
G. purpurea typically flowers from March to May [3]. However, it has been observed to be flowering on November and January [4].
Seeds are wind-dispered [5].
