Description
Common names: Mexican Pricklypoppy, Mexican poppy
Synonym names: A. leiocarpa Greene, A. mexicana fma. leiocarpa (Greene) G.B. Ownbey
Distribution
Found in peninsular Florida (Weakley 2015).
Ecology
Habitat
Is found in disturbed areas, such as sandy roadsides (Weakley 2015). Weakley mentions A. mexicana is native to peninsular Florida (Weakley 2015).
Phenology
Flowers from April to May, and sometimes in August (Weakley 2015).
