Description

D. erectifolium is a perennial gramioid of the Poaceae family that is native to North America. [1]

Distribution

D. erectifolium is found in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. [1]

Ecology

Habitat

D. erectifolium can be found in habitats such as limestone ponds, depression meadows, cypress savannas, and pine savannas. [2]

Associated species: this species has been frequently found with plants of Heypericum and Xyris genera, specifically Hypericum brachyphyllumandXyris elliottii. Other associated species are Sabatia bartramii', Rhyncospora spp., Juncus abortivus, Scleria reticularis, and Sagittaria isoetiformis, Lycopodium appressum, Cyperus lecontei, Eleocharis spp., Platanthera nivea, and D.scabriusculum [3].

Phenology

D. erectifolium has been recorded blooming in April. [4]
