Description

Common Name: Summer farewell

Distribution

Habitat

Is found in Longleaf pine-scrub oak sandhills, pine flatwoods, pine-palmetto barren, Turkey oak sand ridges,sand scrubs, edges of a lake, coarse sand scrub barrens, and on grassy slopes near bogs (FSU Herbarium). Is also found in human disturbed areas such as roadsides, fields, along edges of forests (FSU Herbarium). Requires high levels of light (FSU Herbarium). Is associated with areas that have sandy soil, loose sand, sandy loam, sandy clay, and clay type soils (FSU Herbarium).

Has been observed flowering from August to November (FSU Herbarium).
