Seed dispersal
According to Kay Kirkman, a plant ecologist, this species disperses by being consumed by vertebrates (being assumed). [1]

The following Hymenoptera families and species were observed visiting flowers of Vaccinium myrsinites at Archbold Biological Station (Deyrup 2015):
Apidae: Nomada fervida
Halictidae: Agapostemon splendens, Augochlorella aurata, A. gratiosa, Augochloropsis anonyma, A. metallica, A. sumptuosa, Lasioglossum pectoralis
Leucospididae: Leucospis slossonae
Megachilidae: Coelioxys sayi, Megachile brevis pseudobrevis, M. mendica
Sphecidae: Ectemnius rufipes ais
